Welcome to Tucson, Arizona!

Oleander Flower:San Xavier del Boc Mission:
(oldest European building in Arizona, established 1692, built 1797.)
San Xavier del Boc Facade: (1o miles from downtown Tucson)

Some tips I've gathered these first five days, as I learn on what it means to be a Tucsonan :)

1. Don't feed oleander leaves to your local zoo's giraffe, the leaves are highly poisonous. http://azstarnet.com/news/local/article_53299694-b313-11e0-a82f-001cc4c002e0.html
2. Maintain at least 3 trays of ice in your freezer at any given time.
3. ALWAYS carry a water bottle.
4. Air Conditioning is not a luxury, it's a necessity.
6. If at all possible, stay indoors between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. or else be prepared for 100+ degree heat.
7. Always carry an umbrella or rain jacket as monsoon rains may arrive unexpectedly between 2 and 7 p.m. (ish) during the monsoon season.
8. For chocolate lovers, always refrigerate your most favorite chocolate.
9. Have fun ;)

  1. Interesting architecture. I'd like to see the interior. I'm especially drawn to the stony facade and those big wooden doors. Character!
