25 years and thankful

Pictures from Birthday Party and Halloween in Columbus.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Lots of updates to fill you in on:

On November 8, I turned 25 and celebrated with a wonderful party of family and friends :) I'm so thankful I've made it this far and am glad to be 25!

I've just been admitted to the College of Education at the University of Akron to obtain my Masters in Education, License to teach Spanish K-12 and certificate to teach English as a second language. I will start this January taking one class. Then next fall, I will start full time and be re-locating to Akron as a Zip :)

Five more months and I'll be getting back on the Appalachian Trail to continue where I left off! After I complete a long term substitute teaching assignment for a high school Spanish teacher going on maternity leave, I'm grabbing my pack and hittin' the trail for the summer!

And......My hair is growing....in all directions! :)

Juggling all the responsibilities of life and trying to maintain serenity, happiness and peace is quite a task! Sometimes I find myself whining and crying and making excuses about this grand task. In one of those bouts, I wrote this:

No more assumptions,
no more generalizations:
the world is this way
people are that way.
A safe and familiar
black and white world.
Making sense
fear in our hearts
and ignorance in our minds.

We have endless potential,
gifts to be given and received.
A mind that opens possibilities,
a new reality constantly unfolding,
a heart capable of experiencing
all that life is.

No more mundane living.
No more this is how its always been.
No more I can't, it's too hard, I'm too tired.
No more excuses.

Life is rich.
This is your life.
Take it,
and LIVE!
